Oh, Fresh Direct. This is NOT the asparagus I ordered.

Eat, drink, and flick that packing guy in the forehead.

Maybe some hipster/passive-aggressive comment on seasonal eating?

I think that's an asparaloupe. Easily confused with asparagus. ha.

Oooh, Anon. Intriguing idea - you're certainly giving them more credit than I was...that they actually care enough at Fresh Direct to make a statement about seasonality. Or are you making one of those comments? I know, I know. But I had a recipe! And dammit, I wanted to make that recipe. And this is what happens. Lesson learned. I'll wait until June 2011.

Susan, just give 'em time. At the market the other day there was a mango/nectarine hybrid thing. Seriously. Asparaloupe makes sense, right? They both taste exquisite wrapped in prosciutto.

Oh no, Beth. NO. I had never heard of FAIL blog. Now that it's on my radar, I'm sorry to say I will have no more time to blog here.

Sorry, everyone! Point your fingers at Beth!
