Playlists: the Comfort Food edition

As I mentioned in my last post, all I really needed this weekend was to feel grounded and sane. That included stirring risotto while belting out some of my favorite "heartswelling" songs. Yes, I have a playlist on my iPod labeled "heartswelling." I would normally feel slightly goofy admitting that...but I'm guessing that most people who read this blog won't be surprised by my unabashed corniess. So here is a sample of what I was listening to last night while stirring and reading:

Eat, drink, and always have a soundtrack for it.

I saw Green Day in concert last week, and they closed the night with Time of Your Life.

I was in tears almost the minute he started singing it.

Oh, wow. I would LOVE to see Green Day but I'm certain I would dissolve into a puddle hearing that song. I can totally understand why you'd be in tears instantly - I would be too!

If you ever get the chance, go see them. The concert was seriously SO much fun and SO brilliant. The encore was my favorite part of the night--they did five songs, four of which are favorites of mine--American Idiot, Jesus of Suburbia, The Last Night On Earth, Wake Me Up When September Ends, and Time Of Your Life. :)
