Yep, this is the one. My 500th. Appropriate for a new year and a new decade, no?
There are no words, truly, to express how my life has morphed and grown and changed in the 2 1/2 years since I started this blog. I want to thank Betsy (aka Fuse #8) for harassing me endlessly about blogging - I probably wouldn't have done it without her nudging. I also want to especially thank all of you who take a moment to comment on my posts - it's always wonderful to meet you and hear from you, and it's always a relief when one more person reminds me I'm not alone in the 'sphere.
Here are some highlights from the last 499 posts:

I apologize for not being more eloquent but I'm feeling truly sentimental and nostalgic by this anniversary - I'm at a loss for words. My cup runneth over. It's been a joyous and challenging and fulfilling journey and I look forward to 500 more posts!

I loved the "Food as a Memory Trigger" and the "Kitchen Dance" posts. In fact, "Food as a Memory Trigger" inspired me to make a journal topic for my students about that very topic.
Oh, I forgot to post my favorite "Eat, drink, and..."
Mine is "Eat, drink, and be puggy" because I have a framed picture in my kitchen of "The Portly Pug Pub" with that saying on it. It's right next to our pugs' water dish and so every time they go get a drink of water we say they're visiting the Portly Pug Pub.
Here's a link of a photo of it:

It always makes me smile.
Eat, drink, and discover that while you were offline last July, moving from Florida to Massachusetts, Laura had her gallbladder removed! And you thought moving was painful! Ouch!
Congratulations. I am merely a toddler in comparison and am hugely jealous in the nicest possible way. Hope you have many more to come! Happy 2010!! Lou
You hadn't heard that, Kristin? Man, it was a nightmare. Was in the hospital on July 4th, missed ALA Annual, and had to go on medical leave from culinary school. So glad it's behind me!
Sooooo cute, Beth! I LOVE hearing about your students - that's really amazing. Did they have interesting responses?
Lou, LOVE your Credit Crunch Christmas post! Sounds perfectly cozy...with fantastic wine choices - the Marsannay sound particularly intriguing. I've never tried one.
Happy New Year, all!
Eat, drink, and Bacon.
It's a verb, right...?
:) Thanks for inspiring all those who meet you Laura!
Eat, Drink, and be very happy that you have people like Laura in your life that can blog so eloquently, especially about what I love most, FOOD. Happy New Year and congrats on the 500th post. :)
Eat, Drink and be happy you have someone in your life that can blog so eloquently, especially about what I love FOOD!!! Happy New Year and congrats on the 500th post.
Eat, drink, and GET OVER IT.
I use cooking to mourn, to dispel anger, to alleviate anxiety... you want a fantastic meal in my house, phone me up at 10am and give me some bad news. 8 hours later, show up with a bucket of wine - I will have made a friggin FEAST!
Eat, drink and remember to bookmark Laura's blog! (because it makes me happy).
Happy 500th post!
Happy 500th post! Eat, Drink, and eat some more. And yes...bacon! Yum.
Mine is similar to Ms. Stead's...
Eat, drink, read books, and visit Pinot and Prose. Because Pinot and Prose inspires one to eat, drink, and read books. ^_^
Congratulations on your 500th post, and I love those photographs!
happy 500th Laura! And many mooooooooore....!
